Panagiotis Sotiropoulos is a PhD candidate in Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy-Pedagogy and Psychology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The title of his doctoral thesis is : Voulesthai kai Pratein: The Concept of freedom in Baruch Spinoza’s Mind. This doctoral dissertation is dealing with the concept of freedom in the world of necessity as well as the role of will in the feelings (akrasia), the thought (rationality) and the behavior (pratein) within the Spinozic world, in which everything is defined and stems from the Divine will. Therefore, a paradox is being realized, which gives a particularity to this research proposal. He is a graduate of the Philosophy Department (Department of Philosophy-Pedagogy and Psychology) of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, specialty in Psychology. In 2015 he obtained a postgraduate Diploma (Master's in Education) in Ethics Philosophy (with honours) from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Department of Philosophy. He speaks Greek, English and Italian. His research interests are in the field of Ethics, Metaethics, Neuroethics, Philosophical Theory of Mind, Applied Ethics, Biotechnology, Gnosiology and Metaphysics.
